We do not require auditions, but we do have two orchestra levels with different requirements. Please get in touch with us so we can get a better idea of your skill level.

Typically, we have two formal concerts; one in the winter and one at the end of the school year. We also occasionally perform at other venues, e.g. we’ve played at the Carrboro Farmer’s Market and at Vimala’s in Chapel Hill.

Yes! Adults with children enrolled in PYFO can join tuition-free. We also offer need-based sliding scale tuition. If you are interested in the sliding scale, please get in touch with us!

We’d love to have you for the whole year, but under some circumstances, students may need to join for only part of the year. Please get in touch with us so we can talk!

While attendance at all rehearsals is expected, we know that life can get busy. If you know of rehearsals that you will have to miss because of scheduling conflicts, just let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly.
